Microsoft has been proactive in their support of popular open source tools and technologies. Many of the tools Fenix employs can be deployed on Microsoft platforms in order to build on your existing infrastructure investments.
Communities & Wikis
Fenix has been at the forefront of the web's shift from a strictly publishing environment to a collaboration tool; Web 2.0 principals and practices support our Open Source vision of web technology. The opportunity to allow people to connect, communicate, and collaborate online has been embraced by the Fenix team. We have a strong focus and passion on web innovation and emerging trends. We also have experience.
Fenix was chosen by Treasury Board in early 2008 to develop the Federal Government of Canada's 'GCPedia' initiative, which was the first ever Gov2.0 /Web 2.0 initiative. Built on the Open Source platform Mediawiki, GCPedia has over 18,000 users, 9,000 articles and over 4 million page views.
Fenix built its first online community in 2005. Since then, we have completed a number of online community initiatives including the National Housing Research Association to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
Communities and wikis are the perfect solution for various organizations and specific needs. Each community has its unique set of objectives and criteria; Fenix works with you to develop a strategy to best suit your needs.
